Expertise & Experience
I am a licensed psychologist with specialized training in forensic psychology and child and adolescent psychology.
I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Psychology, cum laude, from the University of California, Santa Cruz. I completed a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Washington University with an emphasis in adolescent mental health (a CACREP accredited program). I graduated with my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (an APA accredited program). My dissertation was an original study that examined trajectories of psychological adaptation and recovery in formerly incarcerated youths.
I received clinical training working in community mental health, forensic state hospitals, VA medical centers, juvenile detention, private practice assessment agencies, a children’s inpatient treatment center, and state health departments. I completed a year-long APA accredited doctoral internship at Western State Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. I then completed a postdoctoral fellowship specializing in forensic assessment through Washington state’s Office of Forensic Mental Health Services.
